北京时间周四晚上，环法结束了第18赛段的争夺。哥伦比亚车队的德国车手伯尔加德凭借自己优越的爆发力以4小时30分21秒的成绩夺得本赛段冠军，由于他出发之前的总成绩排名非常落后，因此并没有影响各冠军衫的去向变动，西班牙车手萨斯特里继续保有黄色领骑衫。 第18赛段从布尔格-德奥桑斯到圣艾蒂安，全长197公里。伯尔加德和西班牙车手巴利多早早冲出来开始领骑，而主车群一直没有发力追赶，最后的冲刺中，伯尔加德和巴利多上演了一场形似场地赛的争夺景观，在距离终点常规开始发力争夺点的400米处，两位选手还是处于观望状态，骑在前面的伯尔加德不停的回望巴利多做出的举动，在临近终点100米处，身高1米89的伯尔加德突然发力冲刺，力压巴利多第一个冲过了终点。费卢落后了3分33秒获得第三，黄衫所在的主车群落后了6分50秒抵达终点。
总成绩榜前几名车手的排名没有变化，萨斯特里依然领先卢森堡队友弗兰克-舒里克1分24秒牢牢占据头把交椅，奥斯卡-费雷里保留了绿衫，科赫继续身穿圆点衫，白衫则属于有着环法“未来之星”称号的CSC车队车手安迪.舒里克。
